Abstract

The Godfred Marti collection contains two diaries and a transcription for each diary. Marti grew up on a farm near Sleepy Eye, Brown County, Minnesota and continued living in the area during his adulthood. The diaries contain information about his life and the work he did as a farmer between 1882 and 1884.

Abstract The Frank C. Thayer collection contains one journal composed between 1875 and 1880. In the journal, Thayer wrote about everyday life, planting trees on his property, the weather, and his jobs while he was at the following locations in southern Minnesota: Kasson, Dodge County; Holly Township and Shetek, Murray County; Oshawa, Nicollet County; Tracy, Lyon County, New Ulm, Brown County, Rochester and Eyota, Olmstead County.
